The Chicago Public Library is a cultural institution that is central to the city of Chicago's education, entertainment, and community. It has served Chicagoans since 1871, and has over 81 branches throughout the city.
I felt that CPL was in need of a visual brand that communicated the fun, accessibility, spirit, and personality of the library.
This rebranding concept is vibrant and eye catching. The logo is a typographic representation of books and education, chicago history and community. I animated the logo to illustrate these themes, and then built out patterns and visual elements that stem from the logo design.
